Episode 7: Catalysing Community — The Power of People in Driving System Change

Sarah Burgaud leads Programs and Partnerships at StartOut, a national US 501c3 organization supporting LGBTQ+ founders. StartOut’s mission is to accelerate the growth of the LGBTQ+ community to drive its economic empowerment, building a world where every LGBTQ+ entrepreneur has equal access to lead, succeed, and shape the workforce of the future.

By working on accomplishing its goal, StartOut has created an entire startup ecosystem for supporting LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and the LGBTQ+ community. With a focus on high-growing ventures, they have managed to develop a community of founders, a strong partnership network, and get the necessary support.

Sarah says that its crucial to be consistent and have clear intentions:

Being consistent and intentional in what your goal is the key. We’re aligned with partners who are also very intentional and consistent. The second part is working with mission-aligned organizations.
